Back from vacation in Florida!

We're baaaa---aaaack! From Florida that is! We stayed at really cool resort in Pompano Beach. It was about 15 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale beach. We had a good time and it was nice to try to relax a little bit before school starts and before we try to get the house ready. We have a lot of things going on right now, a lot of which is pretty sad and emotional so a little sun and time off from work was a good idea. Below is a picture of Madelyn right when we got to our room . She's laying on our bed, sooo happy! Love the smile! We were lucky enough that some of our pool was in the shade until almost noon each day. Madelyn LOOOVED it, smiling and all! Plus she even learned to like her sunglasses as well. In the pictures she has on her SPF50 sunsuit and her glasses. Doesn't it seem like all she needs is a cold drink with an umbrella in it and then she'll be perfect? :)
Our favorite restaurant that we found was called "Sea Watch." Oh my goodness the food was sooo good, as were the desserts! Our favorite meal there was a broiled seafood combination that had broiled fish, shrimp, and scallops. For dessert I had chocolate mousse with brownies and raspberries. Adam had creme brulee and my mom and dad had mixed berry cobbler. We ended up this restaurant twice it was so good! Plus it was right on the ocean and just gorgeous!
These are pictures of us inside the "Sea Watch" restaurant.
To be honest, I think we had dessert each time that we ate out. Even at lunch time. Here is a picture of our desserts from when we ate at the Rainforest Cafe. It was (is) a favorite place of Adam's because of the great atmosphere there. For dessert we had their volcano chocolate cake (complete with sparkler), cheesecake, and warm donut holes with chocolate and caramel dipping sauces. I think I gained at least two pounds just in that meal alone....
Madelyn is still not allowed to wear sunscreen so we really couldn't be on the beach during peak sun hours. We solved this problem by getting up early to be on the beach at 7:30 am. It was great! No one there but us really and cool enough for Madelyn to be out as well. Here are some pictures of her first visit to the beach!
Mom collected a shell for each student in her classroom this upcoming school year. Good idea!
Family picture! Surprisingly she's actually almost looking at the camera.
Madelyn and mom.
And finally, a classic shot of the eyebrows that are so famous. She's quite expressive isn't she? Gotta love it!
