Less than two weeks to go until Jack's arrival! We think? What will happen is that we will have an amnio done the day before to see if his lungs are mature enough and if they are then the csection will be the next day. I think back to the steroid shots that I had around 28 weeks and my fingers are crossed that they will have helped enough to make him ready to get here.
It's interesting to hear and see people's responses when I tell them that they're getting Jack early, at 37 weeks. Some people understand and others kind of have a response of "Why so early?" Honestly my doctors, and myself, are thinking the early the better. We're no longer sure of when Timmy's abruption happened but they do tell me that no matter when, it still increases my chances of having another one again and statistics show that the longer a pregnancy continues then the greater the risk of the placenta giving out anyway. Sooo....I like to think that we honestly could be saving Jack's life by getting him out early. There are too many unknowns, not only for Jack but for myself as well if we wait too long. Better safe than sorry is our motto right now really.
It's going to be a rough few more days until we know when he'll get here. I'm trying, trying to stay busy but it's a fine line between getting ready for him to be here and me worrying that I'm doing too much and pushing myself too hard. So it's really a catch 22 I guess. Just keep your fingers crossed that the next few days go VERY fast and that his delivery is a fast and smooth one. Thanks!
