This week has been so much fun to bet to know Madelyn. Knock on wood, she's been soooo good! She's pretty sleepy most of the time and we have to wake her up to get in enough feedings for the day. This involves changing her diaper and taking off all of her clothes so that she's alert enough to eat. The dr said this might last another week or two. Her most awake part of the days right now are usually in the evenings and at night after she has eaten. We'll see if that switches around in the next few weeks as well too. But we know it's normal for babies to have their days and nights mixed up, no problem!Speaking of the dr, Madelyn had her one week appt yesterday and the dr. gave her an "A+" for everything! Woo hoo! She also said that her jaundice is looking better. And maybe most importantly of all, Madelyn is verrrry close to being back at her birth weight which is important. In fact, she managed to gain almost 3 ounces in just 2 days between the time that the home nurse was here to see her and when we went to the dr. yesterday. Good job Madelyn! :)
We are currently trying to get Madelyn used to sleeping in her crib at least a few times during the night. She has a white noise machine in there, as well as her sea horse that plays music and glows. (See the picture below.) She's too young to know too much about where she is sleeping yet but within a few weeks we are hoping that the routine of being in there at night and associating the white noise with sleeping will pay off. Worth a try right?
Today was Adam's first day back to work today...So far so good. I managed to take a small nap so far AND get a shower so I feel like my day is already complete before he gets home. Those were my two goals for the day. To grab a small nap at some point and the shower. Finished! :) We'll see how the rest of the week goes on our own...hopefully well!
Here is a picture of Madelyn asleep in her bouncy seat. She sleeps there at least once a day.
