We're all doing really well here at home. Madelyn is 1.5 weeks old today and today is the first day in a few that she and I have been able to just kind of relax around the house together. It's a girl's day with me, Madelyn, and Gizmo. I'm trying very hard to get things done but my list keeps getting longer. :) No problem though it's all soooo very much worth it! We find ourselves living out of the bottom room with the fireplace mostly the whole day. Stuff is EVERYWHERE but it's all things we need. It's kind of like our home base or base camp. :) We have been trying to have Madelyn sleep in her crib betwee the hours of 9 pm and 6 am at least. This comes down to 3 or 4 sleep cycles in there between feedings. Seems to be okay for the most part. She stays in there for at least 2, sometimes 3. However we are noticing that her witching hours are between 11pm and 1am. She is WIDE awake during those times. Not upset or crying but just, eyes open, wide awake, I'm not ready to sleep kind of a thing. It's so cute to see her awake like that but we keep having to remind ourselves not to play with her too much during those hours and try to send the message that it's bedtime.... We'll see!
In big news, Madelyn will be taking her first OVERNIGHT visit to Grandma and Grandpa Cahill's in Richmond. We will be leaving early tomorrow morning (with a HUGE carload of everything that she could ever possibly need!!!) and spending the night there on Saturday. We are excited to try it out and hoping that she travels well! Will be a nice little mini adventure we think and a great visit. I know we'll do well! (Fingers crossed and knock on wood!) We'll take some good pictures there for sure!
Here's a picture of the little girl in one of her blankets from Aiden and Anais (it's a company, not a person.) They are huge and stretchy and great!

I can't believe how old she is already! It's just so crazy how slow pregnancy goes compared to how fast new babyhood goes!
