The past week has been pretty eventful. We started off the week with a solid 4-6 inches of water coming DANGEROUSLY close to getting into the house thanks to all of the huge rainstorms that we had. And it was even deeper than that, maybe 9 inches or so at the middle of the driveway where our drain just couldn't handle the down poors. On the news it said that there hadn't been rain like that in about 15 years or so. Ha. We've had our fill now. I hope it's at least that long before it happens again!
This is a picture of Adam standing in the middle of the driveway. And this is after we got a pool pump from our neighbor across the street so that water had gone down some already for sure. Luckily nothing was ruined and the water didn't make it into the house. Thank goodness for our neighbors that lent us the pump and that came over to bail water with buckets and garbage cans! Poor Madelyn had to be in her swing for a bit while I tried to help Adam when it was at its' worst so my mom made a flying trip over to help us out and watch her while we took care of everything. Good job to Adam: his back was sore for days afterward!Additionally, the next day the repairman for our washer came since it had been broken for a few days. The culprit? One of Madelyn's socks!! It turned out to be an EXPENSIVE sock-- $130. Ouch. He was here for all of about ten minutes maybe and that's how much it cost for him to fish it out. From now on we're going to use a lingerie bag for her socks and hope that helps for the future!
In good news for the week, we were told at Physical Therapy yesterday that Madelyn only has to do one set of stretches each day as opposed to three! Thank goodness! All of our hard work has been paying off! :)
