The Paci Fairy

Mads has had her kitty wubanub pacifiers for...well...since the day she was born. I think we've had five of them over the course of the past 3+ years. At one point she had four of them in her crib at a time when she was younger so that if she woke up in the middle of the night, she could find one at a moment's notice. Madelyn kitties have been more than pacis for her. They have been security "blankets" for her before she was allowed to have a blanket in her bed. Let's be honest, I think I may have been more attached to the kitties than Mads was as it turns out. She gave up her kitties for naptimes at school a long time ago but Adam and I just kept letting her have them here at home at night for awhile. Just nervous about how she'd react I guess?  Well the other day we wrote a letter to the Paci Fairy. We told her to come and take Madelyn's kitties. The fairy was going to take them to take them to a new little baby girl that really needed the kitties to help her to sleep and feel safe. In exchange, Mads asked for a new big girl bike. ((Which we needed to get for her anyway, so this worked out really well for us.))  On the night shown below, Mads packed up her kitties in a bag, gave them a final kiss, and we left the bag on the front porch for the paci fairy to pick up.

Low and behold, the paci fairy came and look what she left! A big girl Pinkalicous bike!  Mads has already done very well in learning how to try her best and pedal. She's getting better every day. Congrats on saying goodbye to your kitties Mads! Love you!
