Wow! Is it just me or has she had a growth spurt in the, last two weeks? If you look down below where I am in the brown/red/white striped sweater, I can tell a big difference, can you? Some info about babies at 34 weeks:
See the big picture
How your baby's growing:Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
A few fun stats/facts for this week:
How far along? 34 weeks!
Weight gain/loss: Up 23 lbs
Maternity clothes? Yes of course. I am down to just one pair of khakis that I like though. We'll see if I have to invest in one more pair or not?
Sleep? Better now that my jaw pain is gone!
Best moment this week? Finding out that Madelyn's cysts are gone!
Movement: She seems to be doing somersaults in there and head stands at sometimes as well. Her little behind is starting to push up against my ribs!
Food cravings: Buffalo Chicken Pizza from Dewey's
Gender: Still a girl! (confirmed with another pic from our ultrasound last week)
Belly button in or out? Halfsies. The top is out. The bottom is still in.
What I miss? Breathing is becoming interesting when I sit up in one spot for too long at night.
What I am looking forward to? Our baby shower at school is a week from today!
Weekly wisdom: One day at a time. We are getting closer!
Milestones: Madelyn now has fingernails in the correct spots. That's fun!
