It's been an interesting few days around here in the world of Baby Cahill #3. This past Sunday we were out of town in Richmond. At some point that morning I really needed to go to the bathroom, which if you've been pregnant, you know happens a lot more often! I had been drinking a lot of water as usual but when I tried to go, I couldn't! Not a very good feeling! Finally after walking around a little bit and reallllly trying to go, I was able to, but considering the same thing had happened a few days earlier, I knew something wasn't right. On our way back to Cincy, I called the dr. on call and she told me to come in the next day. So on Monday I went into the office and was still having problems urinating. Nice huh?
Basically what we found it is that my uterus was tilted backwards a lot. Because of this it had been getting stuck under my sacrum because I have a curved tailbone. My uterus was just still the right size to be getting stuck underneath there. This was putting extra pressure on my bladder and actually even trapping some urine in there, causing me to have a UTI as well. The dr. that I saw that day manually reached in to re-tilt my uterus herself. This first time didn't hurt too badly. I was sent home to rest only flat on my stomach which turned out to be interesting. Not all that comfortable!
Around midnight on Monday I started vomiting. It was pretty much non stop. I couldn't even keep water down so the dr. wanted me to go intot the labor and delivery triage to be monitored. While we were there, it was discovered that my uterus had tilted back AGAIN. So this time a different dr. came in to readjust it. And let me tell you...this man was a little more...ummm...forceful. :/ I don't honestly recall anything being much more painful. Yikes! So far so good though as when I was in the office for an ultrasound yesterday, it is still in place. Next up though is a visit to the hematologist as I've had low blood platelets in the last few blood draws that they have done...Hopefullly that will be an easy fix and we can take a breath around here!!!

Isn't that the most bizarre thing? I had a horrible time convincing my OB that I had a reall problem. In fact, I ended up drving from Chicago back to Ohio and my old OB helped me. You are lucky to have gotten the diagnosis so early. My issue was at the end of my first trimester until 19 weeks. My OB ended up giving me a pessary and it did the trick. Hope you get some relief.
