MCA Ultrasounds

We have had two of our MCA Ultrasounds for Jack now. MCA stands for Middle Cerebral Artery. Basically, each week we go and the ultrasound tech measures the velocity of the blood flow in that artery in Jack's brain. If it is normal then that should mean that there is no issue as far as a placental leak or abruption. If it's elevated then that could indicate a problem as when there is a problem and babies start to get anemic while they are still inside, they will give blood to their most important organ-- their brain. So that's why an increase of blood flow there wouldn't be good. So far the first two have been great! We've got a long way to go still but for now we'll take some positive news!!
