I have been waiting and waiting until Christmas to make cake balls! Here is the website if you'd like to see the recipe for them:
http://www.bakerella.com/red-velvet-cake-balls/ It's from an awesome little website called Bakerella. She does the coolest things! So I had to try the cakeballs because so many people were saying online how great they are! And honestly they were pretty easy and soooo delicious! Below is my red velvet cake batter before cooking.

Once the cake was cooled I crumbled into a bowl with a container of cream cheese icing.

Needless to say it was easier to mix by hand than by spoon. Make sure you take off any rings or jewelry first or that could be reallly bad news. My hand didn't get stained red so I was happy about that!

I bought a very mini ice cream scooper to help me shape the cake/icing into balls and it was the best $10 purchase! I can't imagine how long it would have taken me if I hadn't had it!

Once the balls were formed I put them in the freezer for about 4 hours. I dipped them in chocolate bark coating (melted chocolate basically) from Kroger. I covered some with green and red sprinkles and some with crushed candy cane.

And finally, here they are on my red Christmas cake stand. They look pretty good and they taste soooo GREAT! Yum!

Can't wait for others to try them as well! :)
